Kia Ora Koutou e te Whanau,
Kua hua te Marama - We have completed a full cycle.
As we approach the much-anticipated holiday break, I want to extend my warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Nga mihi o te Kirihimete me te Tau Hou Pakeha ki a koutou katoa.
Your commitment to tamariki throughout the year, has not gone unnoticed, and now it is time to embrace the joy of the season with your loved ones. The summer holiday offers a well-deserved break to step back, relax, and immerse yourselves in the festivities, surrounded by family and friends. It is a time to recharge, reflect, and rejuvenate, and set the stage for the year ahead. Your dedication to the well-being of your communities has been commendable this year and you have given the next generation the best chance to grow and succeed.
My heartfelt gratitude goes to the regional presidents who have selflessly served you in your local areas and kept you well-informed and supported. Regional leaders have facilitated opportunities for you to connect, share knowledge, and experience personal growth throughout the year. A big thank you to all the leaders of your Regional Associations.
Regional Association presidents also bring your experiences and views to NZPF, your national body. Together, we are a formidable force dedicated to advocating for the best education policies to equip our tamariki with the skills, knowledge, and attributes necessary to thrive in our ever-evolving world.
As we usher in the New Year, we anticipate new challenges and fresh opportunities for growth and collaboration. I am excited to be continuing as your National President. Just as I promised at the beginning of this year, my commitment remains: To Listen, To Learn, and then To Act.
Kia puta he hari, rangimarie, me te whakatā i tēnei wā Kirihimete.
Thank you for your resolute support and your tireless efforts. May this holiday season bring you joy, peace, and a well-deserved rest.
Ngā mihi,
Leanne

PASL Subscription Fee Adjustment
At their most recent meeting, the Board of Directors of the Principals Advice and (Legal) Support Scheme (PASL) agreed to a subscription fee increase from $390 to $440 per year, effective 1 January 2024.
The increase will apply from the anniversary date of the principal’s PASL contract, as it is renewed, after 1 January 2024. Any contract due for renewal between now and 1 January 2024 will be renewed at the existing fee of $390.
The PASL subscription fee has not been increased in the past ten years and the maximum legal support for a single issue has been increased from $25,000 to $30,000 in the past year. The reason for the subscription increase is to cover the increased administration and legal support costs of PASL.
